One of my favorite things about May is how quickly One of my favorite things about May is how quickly the landscape changes. A few weeks ago these trees were bare and now they’re filled with blossoms, birdsong and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks moving from branch to branch in the morning light. Spring in Maine doesn’t last long enough.

Enjoy, and have a great day! 😊👏

Good morning. Here's a Common yellowthroat from yesterday morning at Florida Lake.

These small warblers spend most of their time moving through thick brush and wetland edges, usually staying low and hidden. A little rain and soft light made for a beautiful morning to watch them and snap a few photos around the lake. 🌧️

Enjoy, and have a great day! 😊👏

There was a little rain around this morning, and the softer light really brought out the iridescent blues, greens, and purples in the feathers. Such a beautiful and underrated bird. 🌧️

Description excerpt from All About Birds:
“Common Grackles are blackbirds that look like they've been slightly stretched. They're taller and longer tailed than a typical blackbird, with a longer, more tapered bill and glossy-iridescent bodies.”

Enjoy! 😊👏

Here's the Cormorant that I captured fishing the o Here's the Cormorant that I captured fishing the other day. You know what they say no swimming for 30 minutes after you eat! 😆

"Basic Description from: -All About Birds dot Org
The gangly Double-crested Cormorant is a prehistoric-looking, matte-black fishing bird with yellow-orange facial skin. Though they look like a combination of a goose and a loon, they are relatives of frigatebirds and boobies and are a common sight around fresh and salt water across North America—perhaps attracting the most attention when they stand on docks, rocky islands, and channel markers, their wings spread out to dry. These solid, heavy-boned birds are experts at diving to catch small fish. " -All About Birds dot Org
